Natural Earth Paint was founded in 2011 by professional artist, mom and environmentalist, Leah Fanning. Leah desired to work with truly non-toxic and very high quality art supplies and searched for those products for years. She couldn't find the quality she preferred and finally decided to create the products herself. After realizing that this way of painting created much HIGHER quality supplies than the synthetic, toxic counterparts, she was on a mission to spread the word to artists everywhere.
Leah began eliminating all toxins from her studio in 2009 and started making natural paintsWhen she became pregnant she continued her mission and right after she gave birth to her son Django, she started Natural Earth Paint. The first products she came up with were: the Children’s Earth Paint Kit and the Earth Oil Paint Kit. Production took place in one small room at her home address.
Right from the start she wanted to focus on eco-friendly and completely non-toxic art supplies and very high quality and archival products. She is committed to an eco-friendly business model as reflected by their prestigious Gold certification from Green America - the highest rank for a green business. At Natural Earth Paint they use post consumer recycled packaging, biodegradable plastic bags and recyclable glass bottles and they give back to Mother Earth through the plant a tree campaign and those who need it such as: Million Choices Project that promotes and encourages art to underprivileged children in developing countries. It is about offering hope and creative outlet to children who are constantly surrounded by poverty, threat of human trafficking, and fear. It enables them to tell stories through art.
Natural Earth Paint continuously spreads the word about the dangers of toxic art supplies for our health, our children’s health and the health of our only planet. Many fine artists are happy to work with these natural paints which gives positive result to their health. Natural Earth Paints won the prestigious Cribsie Award in 2016
